A brilliant idea

I have a short story about a brilliant Thai, well, he must be brilliant, I have no idea how come I haven't thought about it myself.
You usually come across those people at terminals for their kind, they address you and ask you to fill up a form with all kind of questions, I kind of like these surveys, mainly because they are passing the time fast. Anyway, I was at a terminal waiting for the ferry to come, when a Thai person came and asked me if I can fill up this survey, I took up the form and after answering exactly two question I realize, it's his bloody English homework, brilliant!. I'm telling ya, he just has to be genius to come up with it.

Buckingham is in England.

While I'm waiting here in Bangkok to the Cambodia visa to be ready I went today to the king palace with one main purpose, to check out the king's toilet, now, try to imagine a huge chandelier, diamond handles, silk toilet paper and golden bowl! but an eastern style. a crap to cherish and remember.

But the real funny thing about the palace was the guards, they are trying to imitate their British companions from Buckingham and have a serious important look, but this ain't Buckingham Palace and they ain't English, first of all they shake like a leaf in the wind and the changing of the guards was so unskilled and so unprofessional so it could only be so hilarious.

To conclude the visit I can just say that the palace is really beautiful.

Good news

I have good news for you. I'm coming home!

NOT!

I'm holding in my hand the yesterday "Ma'ariv" weekend newspaper and if not the date on it I would say it's the exact same one from 7 months ago when I left, even the cover stories are the same (Lance Armstrong wins the Tour de France).
One good news which I did succeed to draw was, Because of low budget less "MILUIM" days a year, yea right, probably does not concern me, cause I've just got another duty call (at late September), third one this year, true, this time it's only less than a week but anyway it's just renew my will not to come back home at the near future.

Any way I'm on my way back to bangkok, on the way to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Lousy crane

I've reached Koh-Samui yesterday and what an horrible commercial island it is, an island with McDonald's and KFC in it is not my cup of tea. so let me tell you about the reason I'm here, true, it's the bungy site.

Well, before I've got here I made some checking about this place over the Internet and I've found out that they advertise themselves as (and I quote) "accident free since June 14 1992" !!! what the bloody hell had happened at June 14 1992? what exactly did occur at that particular day? I tried to make some checking with the bungy master who denied any connection to any kind of accident.

Anyway, this bungy site looks like the face of this island, it's a lousy crane with a lousy pool at the bottom, and their scale is defiantly uncalibrated. I had a bit of fear from going up on the scale after the last 3 months in India and Thailand, I was worried about the extra wight I must have gained during this time. I went on that scale an it showed 6 Kg less, I repeat, less than since I've last been scaled 3 months ago in Nepal, I immediately told him, "it's can't be true, your scale is uncalibrated." so he gave a closer look at the display and dropped another 2 Kg, Well, what can I say? weird, but as long that the scale fits the site itself I ain't going to argue.

I always wanted to jump and my head would touch the water but I never expected that I would enter all the way up to the waist and I really didn't expect it to be so unpleasant. at the second jump I tried to do some rolling on the air but at the end the bungy masters told me I succeed doing only half a roll, well, next time I'll do better.

I also update my photo album so you can check it out.

Sharks?

Well, the diving course was awesome great, so great that I just had to do the advanced course straight ahead, and it was quite worth it, especially fun was the deep dive to 30 meters which took place at dive site which sharks live there, every time the instructor point at a shark I immediately rushed near the instructor to get a look till finally at the third time he pointed I did spotted it swimming just below me with all it's noble elegant beauty, so maybe I didn't swim with sharks but definitely with a shark. It really was a sharktastic dive.

Now I'm at an island named Koh-Pangan which is much bigger and busy one. but anyway since today I don't really have any reason to stay here so tomorrow I'll just move to the neighbor island Koh-Samui to check out how is it's bungy site, to see if it's any good. so I'll write you from there.

No turtles around here.

I am now at an Island named Koh-Tao, also known as the turtles island, where exactly are the turtles? I can't really tell but the truth is out there somewhere. anyway it's a beautiful beautiful small island, only 5 km long, all cover by coconut trees and surrounded by beautiful beaches. exactly like I ever imagine an island should look like.

But the main issue about this island is the diving, and before I do that I had to get rid of the cold I caught in Delhi, can you imagine catching a cold in Delhi's dreadful heat? for myself I didn't think it's possible, well, think again, everything is possible in India.

So after 4 days of tearing every corner of the island with my brand new powerful motorbike (50cc scooter), I'm finally starting the diving course.

I don't know why I actually do it, I have ever had no desire to go underwater, had no wish to explore that other world and definitely had no urge to go where there is no air.
So, you may ask, so why do you do that? well, cause everybody does that today, everyone has their diving license, and everyone goes to diving vacations. so, you might as well ask, and what if everybody jump out of the roof or from a bridge, would you do that as well?
Did I hear you asking me for a bunjy jump? cause the answer is I can't wait, there are 3 bunjy sites here in Thailand and soon enough I'm going to check them up.

I have another story to tell ya.
A couple days ago, a Thai transsexual lady tried to hit on me on the dance floor, I just burst into great laugh, it was so hilarious I couldn't hold it in. on her second attempt she asked me if I'm not into women, so I just politely answered apparently not... apparently not.

That's it for today, tomorrow I'm going first time to the great ocean so wish me luck.

Is'har Cohen the King

Today I went to the weekend market which is quite a huge market and SUDDENLY I heard "AbaniBi" from one of the booths exactly like Ehud Banai heard Abby Road from the bushes. immediately I turned around to check it out, apparently it was from the radio and at the end of the song the broadcaster said "this was AbaniBi of Ishar Cohen, well to me it sound like supermarket"
It's good to know that we sound like supermarket, whatever that mean.

Abanibi Oboebe Obotabachebem!

Eblabad.

Mama India

I've just arrived (well, in fact 2 days ago) to Thailand and what a culture shock, this is not India here, no it's not. the streets are clean, there are sidewalks, there are no cows to block the street (as a coincidence no cow shit (shoe mine) as well), roads which have more than one (blocked by "TATA" lorry) lane, no "local bus" with too many people than he can take shoving on the roof and where not, meat (as beef) that you can eat without fear for your poor little stomach (after 2 months of vegetarianism), pubs are everywhere (after 2 months of beer dryness), everything is so western here but most important no Hindus which answer any question with "yes" although they haven't understood what you asked them, or worse, answer with a shake of their head (like they are shaking water inside it) which could mean either yes, no, maybe or I haven't got a clue.

So, if everything is so great, why the hell I miss and wanna go back to India?

Love you from Thailand same same.
