Happy St. Patrick's day

Hello everyone.
I hope you all had a happy St. Patrick's day yesterday (march 17th). for myself I went to an Irish pub and they ran out of Guinness ?! all year they are talking about March 17th and then ran out of Guinness ?! they probably not real Irish.

Anyway sorry for not writing for long, it's just that the Internet was so expansive at the last places I've been to (Mt. Maunganui, Whitianga & Thames) so...

Anyway, now I'm in Auckland and after touring all the Kiwi Land I can say for sure that here is the cheapest Internet so I don't have any problem to write you longer e-mail.

Tomorrow I have a flight to the Aussie land and already I miss this place.

Rotorua - SPA City

Leave Hamat Gader aside, this is the place to be if you are looking for a non commercial hot natural SPA, it's everywhere around here.

Although there are pay sites, you can always find one for free. yesterday I went to a site like this, a natural hot spring river just out side the city.

Rotorua - smell like Hamat Gader

Today I arrived to Rotorua and there always the smell of sulfur in the air around here.

Anyway, yesterday when I was still at Taupo I went to the "Rocks'n'Ropes" land which you climb hi logs and need to jump from one to another at around 12 meter hi.

Also yesterday I met Nir (one of the two I was travel with the first 6 weeks) and he told me that the car (the second one) the Mitsubishi lancer has died along the way and it has been sold for parts at the hi amount of 100NZ$ ( a reminder the car has been bought at 1600NZ$).

Iron Man

Yesterday there was here, as I told you already, the "Iron Man" race and it was really exhausting! you can't believe how much audience was here to cheer.

The contest start at 7 o'clock at the morning of course I didn't wake up but I went to the most of the rest of the day, the first man finished after 8 and half hours and the first woman an hour later but the most amazing thing was that at 12 o'clock at night nearly at the 17 hours limit (last cutoff) there was enormous mount of people who still was there cheering especially the two women who missed the 17 hours by 3 second and the other by two minutes. but still they are iron man.
well as I told you earlier it was exhausting! and great.

Still in Taupo

I'm still in Taupo and 2 days ago I went to the "Tongariro Crossing" which is in fact the land of Mordor (Lord of the ring) and it really looked like in the movie except of all the people that were there and I don't remember them at the movie.

Iron Man

Well I wanted to tell you one thing and to send photos but at the instead I'll tell you this.

Yesterday I've reached Taupo and at the following Saturday there would be here the iron man contest (yes i know what you are thinking "very exciting"),

so today there was here the iron man 5 km fun run which I took part and finish it after 24 minutes which I think is quite fast to one who didn't do any exercise at the past 2 months.

Finally a Kiwi

Today I went to the New Zealand national aquarium located here at Napier expected to see a lot of fishes (and I did) and to my surprise there was an aquarium with these 2 flightless rare birds (which are the national animal of the Kiwis - The Kiwi). although i gave up for looking for them (you can only see them in the zoo and on T-shirts) after 2 month in New Zealand I've finally fulfill my mission here. only left to see a koala bare in Aussie and I can be back home (not!).

Napier

Yesterday I went up North to a town named Napier which is on the east cost of the north island (to all who follow me with a map).
the town is very lovely and they are all here very proud of the Art Deco building style which is better than the usual LOTR pride of the Kiwis.

Anyway I'm taking care so take care too.

Wellington?? looks like Haifa

Wellington?? looks like Haifa.
but cleaner.

they have here beautiful botanic gardens and with the view on the gulf and the cable car whitch take you up hill it reminds a little bit of Haifa, the only thing whitch missing is the voices of Piraeus.
Anyway I'm still in Wellington, today I went to the "Te Papa" museum whitch was very nice.
tomorrow I might leave this town or I would stay another day and tour the city by bicycle.

Yesterday Yossi and I split each one to his way, I continue north to Picton and tomorrow I'm taking the ferry to Wellington witch is on the north island.

Anyway now I'm traveling along and it's good.

Santa Claus

את סנטה כלאוס פגשתי בעירה בשם מטוקה (Motueka), אי שם בצפון האי הדרומי של ניו זילנד, בשלהי חודש פברואר שזה יוצא בערך חודש וחצי אחרי כל המטלות שיש לו בדרך כלל בקריסמס.
אני ובן דודי יוסי עמדנו לצאת עם אור ראשון לטרק בשם אבל טזמן (Abel Tasman), טרק של יומיים לאורך החוף. התכוונו לצאת עם התרמילים שלנו ואת הציוד העודף שלא נחוץ לטרק לאחסן בשקיות זבל גדולות. הבעיה הייתה איפה להשיג את אותן שקיות, השעה הייתה כבר דיי מאוחרת , בטח ובטח עבור עירה ניו זילנדית שלווה שכבר אחרי השעה חמש אין עם מי לדבר.אבל, אם לא ננסה את מזלנו איך נדע?

כשסנטה עבר מולנו ברחוב עדיין לא ידענו שזה הוא ולא ייחסנו חשיבות מרובה ללבושו (נעלי עבודה חומות, מכנסי ברמודה אדומים, ז'קט אדום ותרמיל גב גדול נינשא על כתף אחת) שאלנו אותו אם הוא יודע האם ה Pak'n'Save בקצה העיירה פתוח בשעות כאלה, תשובה לשאלה לא קיבלנו אך במקום התפתחה שיחה קלה. סיפרנו לו שאנחנו מישראל והוא סיפר ששמו ניק (קיצור של ניקולס) ושהוא מהקוטב הצפוני, יוסי שהיה סקפטי מכל העניין ניסה לשכנע אותו שלא יכול להיות שהוא סנטה והוא מצידו סיפר על הביקור שלו בישראל בשנת 78 ועל העזרה שלו בתהליך השלום עם מצריים.
כששאל אותנו מה אנחנו צריכים בשעה כזאת מה Pak'n'Save סיפרנו לו על הטרק והייאוש בלמצוא את מבוקשנו. כעבור רגע הוא התכופף וגישש בתוך התרמיל הענק שלו ושלף לנו שתי שקיות זבל שחורות.

מוסר השכל

1. אם זה נראה כמו סנטה, לבוש כמו סנטה ומחלק מתנות בדיוק לפי מה שצריכים אז כנראה שזה סנטה.
2. כנראה שהיינו ילדים טובים באותה שנה.
   

Motueka

Few days ago I finally met with my cousin Yossi and now we are traveling together for the couple following weeks, tomorrow we are going to do the Abel Tasman track.

Glacier?? Good for the Tuna

Yesterday we were at small place called Fox Glacier and we went to see the Glacier.
so today after we checked V for seeing a glacier we went north to a town called Greymouth, it's quite a boring town but I'm going to wait here for my cousin Yossi who has just landed at Christchurch and hopefully be here tomorrow.

Next to Mt. Cook Track

Hey there, how are you these days?

I couldn't be better.
We have just finished a track called "the Mt. Cook track" for the mountain you can view from the mountain we climed.
The track itself is quite a steep and slippery, at the top of the mountain there is an alpine hut where we staied the night and went back down the next day. although it's summer we climbed high enough to reach snow.

Anyway have good time cause I will.

The Routeburn track

So how are you doing these days? long time since I wrote.

You probably want to know what's new at the other side of the world, so except of the cricket and the rugby which are boring I have just finished a 3 days track which called the Routeburn track and the second day was rainy so we got soaked wet but beside that it was fun because after you are wet you can be over wet, the same as you can't be over dead.

Anyway everything here is cool I'm cool so take care
